About Us

Everything You Want to Know

We’ve created BoomVoyage as a trusted source for tips, trips and travel insights—tailored for who you are, who your friends are, and to the things you might like to do and learn.  As part of the Boomer generation who love to travel, we know you’ve “been there and done that” and are always looking for ways to go again.

Our Philosophy

Think you may have seen it all?  Think again.  BoomVoyage is not a travel site like Expedia or Orbitz, and we’re not a travel agency.  We do work with our travel partners to find unique tour packages and special offerings we think will appeal to your sensibilities and tell you about them.  We also work with Casto Travel , a leading, full-service travel agency that can make all the travel arrangements for any trip you see on BoomVoyage or any trip of your dreams.

Happiness is a warm yurt (with 24-hour room service) . . .

We like our little luxuries.  And we’ve collected them all here on these pages.  Best of the best.  The odd and the offbeat.  Products, services, books, and links to great websites for the travel-inclined.  We hope you'll find what you're looking for on this site.

And we’d love to hear from you if you’ve got a great find of your own you’d like to share, a fabulous photo that you’ve taken on your travels, something you’d like us to write about.  Go to our Talk to BoomVoyage page to find out more.

One more thing we’re about is giving back.  That’s why you’ll find a not-for-profit on each affinity that we’ve selected because we think they are doing great work.  We encourage you to take a look at their sites and to consider giving to the cause.  We plan to set aside some of the profits from BoomVoyage for these and other like organizations we go forward.  To learn more about our current featured charitable organizations, see our Partners page.

At BoomVoyage, we can’t imagine a life that doesn’t include—make that feature—travel and our love of it.  The world is still huge and waiting.  And now is the time to indulge your passion for travel.

Find yourself somewhere else . . .

BoomVoyage is here to make your next journey the best one yet. So, start planning and get going.  Time to get on the road . . . it’s recess!

We Are Your Trusted Source

At BoomVoyage, a company, product, service or destination has to be one of a few things to get onto our pages: It has to be interesting to us, it has to be new or hip, and/or it has to have value to our readers  There is one thing a company, product, service or destination can’t do to be written about on BoomVoyage and that is to buy its way onto our pages.

We take no fees for writing about anything in the content area of our site. We never will.

Does that mean we don’t have business relationships with companies whose products or services appear on the site?  No, but here’s how it works.  We come across an interesting idea that we want to share with you, our customers.  We write about it. After that, we notify the company that their company, product, service or destination is going to appear on BoomVoyage.  We ask them if they would like to make a discount or premium available to our customers.  Some of them do, which is how we bring you the BoomVoyage Special Offers.

Advertising is clearly an area in which we take money in exchange for the ad on our site.  It’s how we are able to keep such a clear separation between our content and our revenue and keep the doors open.  All advertising on BoomVoyage is clearly labeled as such.

So, while you are surfing our site, you can be assured that what is on our pages is there because we like it and think it has value for you.

Team BoomVoyage

Jeanne Parrent, founder and CEO, is a seasoned traveler and businesswoman whose interests span the globe.  Her passion for travel goes as far back as she can remember.  She was an exchange student in Argentina, spent summers with her sister in Spain, is married to a Frenchman and has lived much of her adult life in France.  Prior to founding BoomVoyage, she worked for IBM in Paris.  Besides travel, her passions include technology, entrepreneurship, gourmet food and cooking, and getting great people together.  She, and BoomVoyage, currently call the Los Angeles area home base with trips to Europe when her foodie cravings get the best of her. Editor and content director Marina Hardy loves words, dogs, travel and great food in no particular order, separately and together.  She began traveling shortly after birth and is still hooked.  Marina started her professional career with TV Guide magazine, and then moved to content and new media consulting, today focusing on the Web.  She currently resides in one of the tourist meccas of the world, Orlando, Florida.  Marina takes pride in saying she does not regularly attend its myriad theme parks, preferring, when she is not further afield, to spend her time exploring old Florida (Cocoa Beach), off-beat Florida (Yeehaw Junction), and natural Florida (Cedar Key).  Contact her at: Editor@BoomVoyage.com
